Positive Owner Reviews

Jessica g

Great family car with flexible cargo space. Easy to drive and park.

It is a great size for traveling with family and the seats fold easily for times when you need more cargo space. It gets decent gas mileage, however, that could be better. It has done well with the tons of miles we have put on it.

Joseph R

Good model. That is all wheel drive and all leather inside.

2008 Buick enclave like that is all wheel drive all leather inside. But is not economic in gas good suspension.

Beth S

This has been the best vehicle I have owned and I wish we could afford another Enclave.

I love the comfort and the look of the vehicle. It is classy looking and it is the most comfortable vehicle we own. The only thing I hate about it is that the repairs are always really expensive. I will be sad when I have to replace it.

Carol P

It's a family car used for traveling to baseball games.

I love the ride and the space. No complaints

Sandra B

Can pull behind my rv, love the looks and ride.

I love my Enclave, it performs very well, with no problems yet. I does have a leak in the moon roof. We have to clean holes out. It is very comfortable, seat go down and make 7 when needed. It's a beautiful looking car, love the color. It has a great ride, love the looks and all it room, convenient when hauling things, I love that we can pull behind our rv on all 4 wheels.

Stacie A

Great enclave for the family.

Great mileage, smooth ride. Lots of legroom in front middle and back rows. Easy folding back row seats. Push button open and close rear door. AWD. Back up camera. Handles great. 19 inch wheels. Middle row bucket seats. Heated driver & front passenger seats. Memory seat adjustment for driver.

Nikki B

Luxurious 2008 Buick Enclave

This is a very nice vehicle. Very spacious, drives very well, and my whole family fits comfortably. I also like the back view camera. It's very handy. I would consider this a luxury vehicle. As of now I have no dislikes. I give it two thumbs up. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone

Rachel S

Great midsize family SUV with nice interior

This is a very reliable vehicle. It has plenty of leg room and interior room even in the back seats. I'm 5'5' and I can sit comfortably. The torque lacks a bit when backing up like over a raised driveway or other area but will do so with decent gas applied. Has pretty decent horsepower and will get up and go decently fast. Overall a good car and decent cargo room for groceries or other bags etc

Negative Owner Reviews

William H

No matter how well you maintain it after 150 thousand miles it starts falling apart!

Love all the room! Hate the cost of maintaining it! One headlight is over 100 dollars

Rob Stamenov

Lemon

Don’t buy used

Kristin W

It is great for big families but is expensive to upkeep.

It is a lemon. I repeatedly have issues - transmission, sunroof, radio, gas lines, buttons do not work. It is beyond frustrating.

Lena A

The rust on the bottom is a huge interesting detail

The car air doesn't work if you're stopped for too long it overheats all the time. It's has a lot of miles and drives decent for the amount. Cheap on gas and is okay for a first car. Good for driving short distances not far depending on the condition of the car.

Avery S

A pretty good car that is reliable.

My car is fairly reliable and has lasted a while. There are parts of the interior that are falling apart though. For example, my rear view mirror practically melted off. But overall it is a good car and runs really well.

Kay B

Disappointed that transmission went out.

Transmission went out at 70, 000 miles. Comfortable to travel gas mileage ok spacious great cargo room 3rd row seat not very comfortable.

Ashley G

It is not gas saver friendly.

My car is very comfortable has plenty of room. My favorite features are the heated seats dual sunroof automatic liftgate and third row seating. It drives well except a few problems due to the mileage. Other than that I love it.

Laura W

It's very good and has very nice qualities

It is just an old car. The brakes don't work that well and it's a little small for a car that says it's big. Other than that it has been very good to me and my family. We have had it for over ten years and only minor issues have ever occurred within a ten year span

Buick is an American Classic. Built with elegance in mind.

Smooth ride. Easy to operate. Because 2008 is the first year the car was manufactured, we have encountered many mechanical issues.

Stacey B on March 12, 2021

As I put in the last entry

This is a HUGE car! I have a really hard time parking it because of how wide it is and how the wheels don't do tight turns very well. The amenities are fine, typical of the ones you'd find in any luxury vehicle, really. I especially like all the various information you can get from the computerized components (where the mileage is). You can find out how many miles are left in your tank, what your average miles per gallon are, etc.

Pros from Owners

Erin S.

Bose speakers, has all the bells and whistles. Extra seating, third row. Stylish exterior, leather seats, DVD player, reliable, AWD, headlights move with car and offer great night vision, headlights automatically turn on and off.

Dawn P.

I really like the electric seat controls, the heated seats, the smooth and quiet ride, and the interior trims. The back up camera is helpful too. I use the driver information on a regular basis to keep an eye on engine status. The passenger heated seat is very nice also. The ability to give environmental control to the rear seat passengers is very nice. I also use the inside switch to open the hatch quite often.

Terry C.

Remote start and heated seats. All wheel drive and very good gas mileage. Quality sound system I have never had any problems with the mechanics of the vehicle. Very smooth ride. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice used SUV.

Crystal G.

Very spacious and roomy inside. There are 2 sunroofs. The vehicle has a very smooth drive. It is automatic. It has a sleek beautiful look and appearance. It is just an all around beautiful and amazing vehicle.

Betty S.

The size of the vehicle and gas mileage. We like the fact that it is high off the road. It drives very well and is very quiet. We did have to replace the engine two years ago but it runs like a top.

Jacob E.

It is very big and spacious on the inside. As much space as a suburban on the inside with less length on the outside. It seats 8 people. It sits up higher and has some automatic features like turning on with key fob.

Cons from Owners

Erin S.

The only major con is that the car is not 4WD. I live in the land of snow so it would be nice if it was 4WD but so far it has done well. I just cannot go anywhere where the snow is too deep or I'll get stuck.

Dawn P.

It seems kind of big sometimes when I am trying to park on many public lots, at least at the rear of the vehicle. There are some rear area blind spots that can be difficult at times. I do not like the front posts at each end of the windshield that take a lot of conscious energy to look around to make sure I don't run someone over.

Terry C.

Transmission went out at 180000 miles. Lights in the radio quit working so I cannot see what station I am on when tuning it. CV Axel's went out at 175000. Which caused uneven tire wear. But most of the time I have a good experience with the SUV.

Crystal G.

I have not found any cons to this vehicle yet. Everyone I know loves it just as much as I do. They love it inside and out just as much as I do. The gas usage is good for that size of vehicle. Love my Buick.

Betty S.

This particular model does not come with a backup camera. The drivers side mirror is right in the way of my vision. This causes some dangerous conditions for me while driving. I have to look under the mirror to see if there is traffic coming or while making a left turn.

Jacob E.

Design makes it more difficult to maintain or expensive for someone else to do as part of the frame awkwardly sits just over some places it sometimes needs work. It has fabric seats which are harder to clean but can be nice.

Is The 2008 Buick Enclave A Good Car?

Yes it is it is great I love the car it runs amazing I would love to buy another one in the near future.

Desiree l.

Very good vehicle I would recommend it to anyone who is looking. Very reliable and has a lot of options.

Jeremy P.

It's okay. It has had a lot of mechanical problems, and transmission errors. I have taken it into the shop quite a few times for the same problem that they cannot seem to find.

Donelle A.

It was until 2 years ago, frequent expensive repairs are making it less so. Most recently, timing change needed at 87,000 miles!

Nicole J.

I find that is a good driving vehicle. But you have to put a lot of gas to drive around but a I like the style of the Buick Enclave.

Kristen A.

Yes it drives very well. Good on gas Low maintenance. I would buy several of these if I had the chance. A great family car.

Scott H.

Yes, drives like a car, but you are still higher up like other SUVs. 7 seats, haven't any expensive problems. Normal maintenance

Tracy H.

Yes. I love it very roomie love the leather seats two sunroofs. 3 rows enough leg room, and space for food shopping or beach trips

Alex D.

How Reliable Is The 2008 Buick Enclave?

It is reliable and it really do not have any problems I love the car I would tell anyone to buy this car.

Desiree l.

It is very reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Only problems I know about these is the front sunroofs leak after a while and the rear a arms could go bad and need replaced.

Jeremy P.

It can be. It drives much better during the spring and summer time. In winter the traction control tends to go out of whack and the engine codes are constantly popping up.

Donelle A.

The car needed timing chains, needs brakes, needs tites, delays switching into drive, etc. It is not reliable anymore, despite low mileage.

Nicole J.

It is reliable but like I said you need to put a lot of gas to drive around that is the only thing that I do not like.

Abby L.

Very reliable. Very seldom had problems or need tune ups. Only needs to be maintained once every two years if needed.

Gina L.

Nothing major. Very reliable, good on gas, and at 11 years old, it makes a little noise and has almost 200,000 miles on it but it's still a car I will continue to drive until it won't drive... Read More

Tricia E.

It is reliable. Everything is electric and the dashboard lets you know every single thing going on with it. Bad part is rain gets trapped in the sunroof and needs to be drained by maker.

Kathy M.

Is The 2008 Buick Enclave A Good Value?

It does have a good value I miss the car sometimes when I am away from it but I will love having it everyday.

Desiree l.

New mine was 35,000. I paid 10,599 for it used with 100,000 miles on it and it currently has 155,000. It is a good value and the all wheel drives are even more expensive but worth it.

Jeremy P.

I bought mine used at $13,000. Its would be a great value if it wasn't for the problems that it currently keeps having.

Donelle A.

42,000 dollars was the original cost, it was a good value, mostly, but I will not buy the first model of a vehicle ever again.

Nicole J.

The Price I think is a little high is a nice Brand but there more to choose around in general. For that price.

Angela D.

The cost is very economical and easy on the pocketbook. It is a very good value and only cost me a fraction of two pays.

Tate R.

I bought mine used for $15,000 and Buick parts are cheap so no maintenance has cost me crazy amounts. It is of great value. I don't like that my tires even the cheapest tire is $178 a tire but have... Read More

Carol C.

I bought my Buick enclave used from a dealer and I paid 5,200. I say it was a good price to pay for it because I know they go for, way more than what I paid for it.
